"Sweets Challenge" from Italy

Last April 10 or 11, 2014, I received a notification in my Instagram account. My friend from Italy, Francesca Fradegrada, who's a very pretty and adorable cook, challenged me to bake sweets for 5 straight days. She said that I would post every picture in Instagram with the hashtag #5foto5giorniaituoiamici.

Franci's such a pretty and sweet friend.

It was a challenge that I would like to participate since I liked, no, I LOVED my theme. It was quite easy for me and my mom to whip up desserts. It was also perfect because Franci and I both love desserts. She's even a luckier girl for she gets to eat all those classic Italian desserts.

So I thought about what to bake for five days since I needed to bake one dessert per day. My thoughts were quite blurry since I wanted to bake five, beautiful, scrumptious desserts for Franci. I also visualized my desserts. Finally, I came up with five basic desserts that Mom and I can easily bake... So much for the fancy pastries floating in my pastry-cream filled head.

Here's the 5 desserts I baked for the challenge, #5foto5giorniaituoiamici. The other desserts were posted in my previous blog entry.

clockwise from top: Red Velvet Cake Pops, Chocolate Brownies, Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting, Durian Cake with Durian-Infused Cream Cheese Frosting and Deluxe Chocolate Cupcake with White Chocolate Chips
I wished that Franci and her mom were here to taste these. Mom and I used premium ingredients for those. Looks matter but taste matters more. That's the philosophy that we always stick to.

Happy reading, salivating and baking,
Loi
